Helpful things I heard as a trans person

I always knew I was trans, for as long as I remember. I didn’t need to discover it / I didn’t need to crack my egg: I was born cracked.

The thing that actually got me to come out was perspective. Some bad things happened in our friendship group and it made the shame of being trans feel small.

The thing that actually made me be more true to myself was going to a very queer university, being surrounded by weirdos. I could reinvent myself overnight.

The thing that made me try to start medical transition was encouragement from close friends.

The thing that made me succeed in starting medical transition was seeing the rise of TERFism in the United Kingdom and not wanting to let them win

it’s not that deep really. i didn’t read anything that helped me. i only went through experiences that hindered me: the patriarchy, the church, the conversion therapy, the “allies”, the binary, but i came out stronger on the other side, again and again, every day, back to the wikiblogardenite
